THE BEGINNING

Dattatraya Anant Godse, the brain behind Dagson Art, was born to a middle-class family in 1910. Blessed with a creative mind, he took up modelling Diploma course at the famed J.J.School of Arts, Bombay. And soon he came out with flying colours in 1937, he was picked up as chief Modeller by J.A.Ritchie & Co. an eminent firm of architects in the pre independence city of Bombay. During his years with J.A.Ritchie chartered Architect he also acted as a visiting lecturer in Modelling at his Alma Mater, a honour which he carried with elan for over a decade. Then between 1955-65, he was employed as a modeller for Bombay Municipal Corporation.

A plan was chalked out in 1970, which found its ultimate fulfillment in the conception of a partnership firm “DAGSON ART”. ON 5th July of the same year, the Registrar of Bombay as “PARTNERSHIP FIRM” duly registered the firm.

THE IDEA AND ITS DEVELOPMENT

Mr. D.A.GODSE and his two sons Mr. Sharad and Mr. Manohar had envisaged DAGSON ART as a specialist organization or creating Architectural, Industrial as well as Engineering Plant scale Models. To get at this idea they began using the highest technical standard mixed with a devotion that comes only to pioneers.

Improvements were introduced from job to job, a practice which endeared them to may of their early patrons and bound the clients inextricably with Dagson Art. Soon the word spread and the phrase “DAGSON FOR MODELS”, was etched indelibly in the minds of all those who sought high standards in their scale models. And with the modelling becoming synonymous with Dagson Art, came endearing relationships with a long list of reputed industries, Engineering firms, Architects, business-relationship which have grown stronger with the passing summers.

The industrial scale models designed by Dagson Art have enabled score of entrepreneurs to explain in minute detail their plans to interested parties like financiers, investors & consultants.

Thus keeping pace with new demands, innovating on its own and ever on the lookout for fresh challenges, Dagson Art has taken rapid strides in past 15 years and today stands way ahead in the modelling field of India.

Far from resting on its laurels Dagson Art is pressing onwards to future expansion at various levels.

The firm has already developed its own moulded plastic fittings, which is an important and almost indispensable raw material for preparing chemical plant models. The firm has also plans to manufacture other fittings required in engineering scale models.

SISTER CONCERN

Recently M/s. DAGSON ART has established a new sister concern on the name of M/s. DAGART SOLUTIONS and Mr. AMOL GODSE, the heir of the third generation of GODSE family has undertaken the total command of the concern and the latest technology used for model fabrication.
